His time machine was interesting, if only because unlike traditional time machines in fiction, his showed you the future outcome of whatever present-day actions and decisions are made. For example, we saw the Chipmunks and Chipettes living in great wealth and splendor because of Alvin choosing the cash prize from Publisher's Warehouse; but we also saw them living in poverty as a result of Alvin choosing the mystery prize, which was a free lunch that ended up giving him food poisoning that weakened his vocal chords. It's a time machine that's more or less a what-if machine.

And they may have been just a dream, but I got a kick of his "Bro-Bots".

Another was his botched hair tonic, even though it wasn't what it was supposed to do, I love that it turned him all suave. Plus it gave us his first solo!
