There's some advances in technology that I've never been particularly fond of: widescreen TVs, movies and shows filmed in so-called "HD", phones and tablets trying to phase out computers, cloud-based services and such. . . .
Howver, if there's one area of technology advancement I can get behind, it's advances made in manufacturing prescription glasses! I just got a new pair for the first time in maybe 3-4 years, and since then, they've developed an even newer lense material than what I had previously been wearing (which at the time was the latest available), and as a result, for the first time in a looong time, the lenses in my new glasses are actually thinner and lighter, which is awesome - my lenses have always been incredibly thick because I'm so darn near-sighted, but it's nice to be able to get thinner lenses for a change.
