It's really intriguing seeing how much attention Harry gets from the fans; despite being in only, what, four episodes, he's clearly an Ensemble Darkhorse with the fandom - I see fan art of him pop up on deviantART from time to time.
I think some of it may have to do with some of the comparisons people have made between him and Ian from the CGI movies, and there are a number of similarities between the two (both act like surrogate uncles to the kids, both are more interested in exploiting the kids to their own benefit, etc.)
So, what is it about this shyster that makes him such a loveable rogue?

I honestly have never understood the fandom love for him. Never appealed to me, that's for sure.

A lot of that fanart coming from me. xD Yes, I consider myself a Harry fan, for some odd reason.
It doesn't have anything to do with Ian Hawke, though. If I can pinpoint why exactly Harry is my favorite AatC "villain", I think it might be that he can be a redeemable character. Perhaps Harry is someone who has done some awful things, but deep down isn't really a bad guy. I've read a few fanfics that present Harry in this fashion, and I can say it's a believable route for his character development to take. Sure, in canon, he's a scumbag, and there's nothing in the show that indicates that he would change his ways. I guess what I'm saying is while I don't necessarily like Harry as he is in the show, I like the *idea* of him making a "Heel-Face Turn", and exploring plausible depths to his character. It's more of a "fanfic"-type thing, if you will.

Sounds like you're a troper Michelle. I think I can kind of see that in a way: if Harry was expanded on a little bit more, I think I can see him becoming not so much a straight-up villain (and already, he's more of an antagonist than a true villain), and simply more of an opportunist looking for any get-rich-quick scheme to come his way.
