Now, I have to say, that THE CHIPMUNK ADVENTURE on DVD is spectacular. I have the movie taped off Disney Channel from the mid 90s, and the difference in quality is, to say the least, astounding: they did such an incredible job restoring and remastering this movie, on DVD is looks so rich, vibrant, colorful, and pristine, as opposed to the Disney Channel airing I taped that looks like an old 16mm print with dull and faded colors, fuzzy picture, and distortion and artifacts glore.
I also enjoy looking at the conceptual artwork that was included and seeing what some of the existing scenes looked like in storyboard phase, and what scenes that didn't make it into the final movie would have looked like (I really wish I knew the story behind the one panel where we see Brittany pulling a sweater over a driver's head, while Jeanette and Eleanor watch in horror).
That said, I wish we could have gotten just a little bit more in the way of bonus features. Ross and Janice have a lot of stories behind the movie, I think a commentary track would have been wonderful and insightful! Also, I notice a lot of animated movies on DVD feature deleted scenes in form of animatics since they're not usually fully animated - that could have been interesting to see if they could have done that with some of the scenes they weren't able to get around to.
Still, the movie itself in all its restored glory on DVD is something to behold, so I guess there's really no room to complain too awful much.
